A handy hack for Google maps enabling you to see how far a particular route is to walk, or how far you've run etc on a drag, point and click interface.

When I was training for my walking marathon I became obsessive about checking my routes on this. It's ace :)

its cool, tyhough a running friend said he found it inaccurate...

(i use: http://www.littleredfrog.com/?action=mapper but you need to have your own maps or be clever - i wish it was open source so i could add some features)

That's really useful, thank you. It's nice to know that I'm already walking over a mile a day without it really biting. Now I just have to do more.

Yeah, it's really handy. I did find a similar site that had the very useful feature that it would automatically follow the path of roads if you clicked every now and again, rather than having to do straight lines. There was something I thought it didn't do as well as the one you mentioned though, so I went back to that. It was a nice feature though.
