Road Pricing

This has been doing the rounds - it's a petition to Number 10 against the proposed NuLab road pricing initiative.

No. 10 are apparently having a shit-fit over the whole petitions on the website thing. They did make some salient points though, that the petition wording is inflammtory and makes no case *for* the charging, i.e. driving down emissions by encouraging people not to use their cars, etc. It focuses purely on 'Big Brother' paranoias, which is less than balanced.

The Government have, however, determined the wording of their own policy. The petitions site explicitly doesn't attempt to give all possible shades of opinion on a given issues. Instead, it allows anyone to post their own wording - I presume this is what the MySociety providers agreed with the Government for the site ( ... )
