*nods* :( The picture of the father in his uniform at the grave really got me,man. I cannot imagine the anger the father most feel towards the step dad. Some beyond sick people out there, it's just.. sickening. :(
I saw my 3 year old cousin, Mercedes, in her casket. Her baby sitter abused her so badly, while caring for her on an overnight shift, that she died. The autopsy found clothes pin marks on her nose and cigarette burns in her back. Amoungst dozens of brusies. She was burried in her pink pajamas with her teddy bear under one arm and her hair stil messy (the way it was that night she went to bed). She was only 3. She looked like a doll- she had so much foundation on to cover the bruises her face was cracking. Mercedes died in 2002, the sitter was just convicted this year. Her 7 year old sister heard the sitter come get her in the night (there were 6 kids sleeping in the same room, and she was singled out) and heard her screaming on & off all night. She was still alive when her mom picked her up in the morning, but Marianna (my cousin), said she flopped in her arms like a rag doll and looked at her as if she were trying to tell her that she was dying. She seizured on the way home and she then turned around and drove to the E.R.. Mercedes
