Indeed. As far as I know, they will flower year-round in their native eastern Australia. Mine, however, did decide to wait until there appeared to be sufficient mass, much like what I've been told of Utricularia menziesii, which won't flower from seed for about ten years until after it's produced a colony of 5-6 tubers.
By the way, if I haven't given you enough thanks as it is, I'm doing that lecture on carnivores tomorrow, and I'm giving you a ridiculous amount of credit for what I know about Stylidium. I wish that the both of you would be able to attend, but there's always next time, right?
I was thinking some about plant morphology recently, and I also happened to have watered my lithops last night for the first time in about three months, so you = really exciting! I hope you do not mind that I have added you to my friends list.
