Leah had just stepped off of the lift when she heard the unmistakable voice of Jason, weaving a grand tale for the receptionist. She couldn't even hear half of what he was saying, but she could tell that it was pretty outrageous, and probably hilarious.

That is, if the poor girl didn't take him seriously.

She laughed to herself, finding her spirits much higher now that she was walking toward him. He seemed to make him happier, without much effort at all. Just being around him was reason to be happy, he had a good, positive outlook for her most of the time.

Not that she was ever negative, it just... well, it was odd. She was happy. That's all she knew, and she wouldn't try to explain it any further.

"Jason!" she cried, face lit up as she came nearer and easily looped an arm through his. "You aren't telling poor Margie about that rash, are you?" She grinned wide, loving that she could forget about being so serious when she was with him.

Twisting his head around when he heard his name, his grin brightened. As soon as Leah had looped her arm, he pulled her closer and whispered conspiratorily, "I would never. No one knows about that -- well, other than Margie, now."

Winking at the receptionist, who was almost falling out of her chair laughing (and he liked to think that she was laughing at his story, not at him), he added, "Margie, eh? M'dear, you didn't tell me your name! My aunt's name is Margie. Wonderful woman... has a way with the manly types, y'know..."

But he trailed off before he could continue on that train of thought, because Leah was here!

Reaching across the counter, he patted Margie on the head and finished, "You go have fun with those manly types of your own, okay? I have to go be one m'self, now." Nodding very seriously, as though Leah hadn't been able to hear him, he spun to her and grinned brighter still.

"Well, hello!"

Leah burst into giggles as Jason actually patted poor Margie on the head and told her goodbye; he was such a card, and she could not express how terribly happy she was to see him. Long, hard days were only made better by smiling, and he certainly made her do plenty of that.

"Hello!!" she replied, wrapping her arms around his shoulders in a warm hug. "It's quite a pleasant surprise to see you here, you know."

She pulled back, the tugged on his arm to get them moving toward the exit; she loved her job, but it was just one of those things. Don't linger, etc.

"What're you doing here, anyway? Aside from charming the knickers off dear Margie!!"

"What can I say? I have such issues with keeping my charm to myself when it comes to that lovely Margie. I want nothing more than to charm her knickers off."

He snorted at the thought, as Margie was most definitively not his type (though, did he really have a type? Hm, he would think on that later), and slipped his arm around her shoulder as they headed out the door.

Making a small humming noise, he added, "And what else would I be here for? I'm here for you, obviously. I wanted to surprise you." Pausing, he thought a second, before finishing, "But I kind of missed the elephant on the roof, and I had to come and say hullo to him, too. You just caught me after I was finishing up with him."

A card? Yes, but that was why people liked him. Or... why they all shied away from him and thought him odd. One or the other.
