I just stumbled across an online article that interviews an old friend of mine, related to tabletop gaming. We originally got to know each other through doing improv in high school (he was better than me), and later on we were roommates for a couple of months. I'd heard of that store, but the advice I tended to get was that it worked best when you were heading there with friends. As a venue for pick-up games, it's not as good, as most people there _are_ there with friends and would rather play with people they're familiar/comfortable with than with strangers who may or may not get along with the group.

That said, I may try it if I end up moving back to the city. I still don't have a regular boardgaming group (the crew in my current city offered but have an incompatible schedule).
