I think you'd particularly enjoy God is an Astronaut, Queens of the Stone Age, and Russian Circles. God is and Russian are heavy instrumental post rock, very along the vein of Mogwai. And then Queens are just freaking awesome from top to bottom, probably my favorite stoner rock group in the past fourteen years.
And thank you! It was a rather uneventful birthday on the spot. But I'll definitely be doing a lot of catch up celebrating this whole weekend through Monday visiting pubs with friends for free libations! ^_^

I'm glad you like my list! It took a lot of weeks of preparation, contemplating, and finalizing to create & share here on LJ. There were also a lot of runner ups too such as the "Sunbather" by Deafheaven, Mike Patton's work with Tomahawk, Silver Mt. Zion (if it hadn't been delayed into 2014!), and Fejd's latest jams from Sweden. But alas, some music stood out more than others!
