* Reggie White is NOT a hero. He was a friggin football player, AND he
was a bigot - since when does that make someone a hero?
* I don't care about football.
* If {insert cubicle neighbor here} are such an expert on what the coach
is doing wrong, then why aren't you a coach?
* In fact, I really hate football.
That is all.

Reggie died last month and he had a hero's funeral - flags flying at half-staff, etc.
But he made some controversial comments about his own race and about gay people. This tells the story:

As much as I love Madison, the one thing that irks me - and that I thought I'd escaped when I left Pittsburgh - is the football-as-religion thing. People were actually near tears on Monday at work after the Packers lost. I mean, give me a FUCKING break, you know? When 150,000+ people are killed in a tragic way, it hardly seems important about what an overpaid athlete did or didn't do.
Besides, hockey players are WAY cuter. 'nuff said.

After last Sunday's game, particularly, we had to endure 2 days of follow-up news coverage about the game. All we've heard about this week is Randy Moss and his attempts at getting attention.
I will be so glad when football season is over!
