Lagomorph in the night

I saw what i guessed was a hare last night, trotting like a cat, down the street in Sunnybank. Legs were quite long (body was about a foot above the ground), and front and back pairs were about the same length, with no remarkable difference in width ( Read more... )

No, not a fox. Rabbity head, rabbity ears, rabbity tail. Passed about two-three metres away from me.

Hares run with their heads and bodies still, so to speak, but with their legs moving paired not alternately... I can't quite find the right words - but it could have looked like a cat trotting along... but hares have long ears that they hold bolt upright, looking rather odd.
