my philosophy professor is really engaging. he gave a lecture today about...well, making sense of life. he said that you dont really understand philosophy unless you can explain it. so im gonna write what i can about what i heard

cool someday i hope i can take philosophy its such cool stuff,,, ill have to see what it takes to minor in it... hehe its great to have so many options when your just startin college
what about for the sake of learning for the sake of understsanding for the sake of exploration for the sake of things a little more abstract? oh sorry, that would be too abstract for such surivival/superficial existence.
hey person, it sounds like you didnt like my entry, or youre insulting it? im not sure. but maybe you didnt read what i wrote very carfully. your abstract scenario infact WOULD fit into the arguement that every action is goal directed. maybe you missed the part where i said "NO MATTER WHAT ACTION we do, its always aimed at some good, but a subjective good." therefore your scenario ends with a good, which seems to be exploration. but if you have a problem with that idea, take it up with Aristotle and Julia Annas who wrote "The Morality of Happiness". im just explaining what i learned. and stop leaving annonymous comments. man up and leave a name, that way we can continue the discussion.
ps- everyday life is made up of surivial/superficial tasks. that is an undeniable fact. Aristotle is trying to make sense of such tasks by saying that those tasks are directed at obtaining such abstract things as understanding or exploration or whatever any individual considers happiness. however, the definition of happiness is under debate.
you're right, maybe i didn't read what you wrote carfully... maybe you didn't think about my response carefully because you were too focused in on the fact that you thought i was personally attacking you and you let emotion take hold instead of reading what i wrote and responding intelligently.
just think outside the box a bit more- it's much more interesting you are literally translating aristotle- there are more paths of understanding his point nothing is an undeniable fact read some plato
