er, but last i heard Tengu also could become young children in appearance. (i've seen many old paintings of tengu diguised as children luring kids away)

i also uncovered the reason for the euro demons and shit in Onimusha. apparently there's a world below ours (underworld, har har) and it just so happens that the demons located under japan revolted, hence why it's set in japan.

but yea, it seems there are no truly accurate depictions of japanese mythos anymore. Plus with the addition of more inuyasha eps to cartoon network (oh yay) youkai will be fagified more.
