Seeing that on my friends list scared me a ridiculous amount. Er... explanation?

That aside, though, this is truly marvellous. I love:

"bread eaten in secret", and using the word "breast" in a totally non-sexual way apart from the way that it totally is sexual. If you get me.

The fucking's incidental.

People might say all kinds of things, he knows, but Akthar isn't bothered - very Akthar, as I see him, and somehow touching.

Redhead!Fiona, a combination of enthusiasm and first-time bad technique and so far from anything she's been since, all of which are lovely for Fiona, whose character it is always interesting to explore.

I love the Dakin reference, too, and the inference that he's somehow superior to Fiona, as well as the last line, which kills me. Fiona's got so much potential that it's sad, really.

Haha sorry for the scare. I joined oh_muses and saw in there that you wanted to use the line somewhere....

"(£) Something - anything - containing the sentence, She used to have red hair. It came up in French the other day, when we were studying the imperfect tense, but I really like it (and it reminds me of Valerie by the Zutons, which is a bonus)."

You have my personal journal friended, which is how I got to the comm. :)

Thank you for the feedback, and I hadn't thought about the 'breast' thing. Fiona is very exciting isn't she!

I really like this - Akthar/Mrs Lintott is strangely compelling and I always like Fiona stuff. Tiny niggle though - Fiona would have done O Levels, not GCSEs.

Haha, Akthar/Mrs Lintott is completely bad and wrong, but I have been made addicted to it by my evil friends. Though I think if she has any chemistry with anyone at all then it's Akthar, and in the film (look at that Queen Elizabeth bit)!

Oops, yes she would. I was a couple years out. (edits)

Hiiiii. 'kay.

her scarlet youth is in her laugh

Yesyesyes, beautiful. And you are all so evil for making Akthar/Lintott not only plausible, but lovely; especially the bit about girlish hang-ups, and how that seems to reinforce how, in a way, Akthar's more mature than the others.

And FIONA, MY LOVE. <3 Ohhh, so sad; trapped in that bizarre space between being a girl and a 'real' adult. You (and she!) are my hero, trufax.
