The idea, that there could be a cinematic equivalent of those 'mash-up' DJ/Producer tracks that began appearing a few years ago, was one I encountered on an Internet message board - but these examples are all my own work, yes...*cough*

Some of the other ones I saw on that board were way better:
e.g.
