Ahahaha, I've been waiting ages for this arc to be animated! The best thing about this episode, I think, is how Zoro and Sanji are voluntarily huddling close together out of mutual WTF-ness. And Luffy has totally always wanted a dog, but it's hilarious how bad he is with animals - d'you think this is a reference back to his failure with the dog back in Port Town, in the Buggy arc?
And you are totally right about the shower scene! I hadn't even noticed! Abs could be holding his hand over her mouth while pinning her arm down with his elbow, but that would mean he'd have to lean in really close.
Zoro and Sanji are each other's bastion of sanity in this. Because Franky clearly is all "OMGZOMBIEFUN" just like Luffy, and I secretly suspect if Luffy wanted to take everyone from Thriller Bark, Mermaid Island and all points west on board the ship, Robin would have no problem with that XD It would be more crazy people to watch and be amused by. So really, it's poor Zoro and Sanji who must set aside their differences and rally together. For the sake of the crew. For the sake of themselves.
It's all just a prelude to when Kuma shows up, really XD
I completely forgot that place even had a name ;_; Luffy's deep-seated need for a pet may even stem back farther than Port Town. Who knows what tragic pet-related past he may have had? But I bet some of it stems from that.
Abs is flexible in ways we know not of and are rather glad to remain ignorant :B
