Recent movies - Inside Out, Avengers : Age of Ultron, and Ant-manRather enjoyed Inside Out - quite a thoughtful and funny script, and and *outstanding* example of getting crap past the radar, regarding bear attacks in San Francisco. Definitely worth seeing, if you haven't yet ( Read more... )

I didn't like the look of Inside Out. It seemed a lazy premise to me, and it was already the premise of a strip from the Beano, which I think was called the Numbskulls. I'm glad to hear it was good. I'll probably not get to see it until it comes on the telly but it's good to hear of decent animations. I'm going to watching a lot of it in the next few years, and probably a lot of total crap!

It was also the premise of Herman's Head :)

Supposedly the "full" version of AoE was an hour longer -- chopping that much out of a movie in post makes me surprised the plot was as coherent as it was.

But I agree -- they needed to shuffle their plot threads around to spread them over at least two movies, if not three.

Ugh. Biggest dropped plot threads - Tony getting over his psychological crutch in Iron Man 3. As the Plumbing The Death Star - Movie Maintenance podcast suggested, it would have made much more sense if Tony was controlling a fleet of iron legion suits remotely. Much better lead in to Ultron as a better distributed intelligence to run the legion, for one thing. And Mimir's Well could have been in the post credits teaser.

I'm annoyed baron strucker got killed off that promptly - and off screen, no less.
