I can only think that my RL and internet corners of the world must be far more self-selected politically than I had ever imagined... or full of people saying one thing and voting another... I really didn't expect this. It seems to fly in the face of all common sense on so many levels.

Gratified by the Eden-Monaro result at least - expected the Green candidate to do a bit better but the preference dancing seems to have paid off. That at least gels with what the mood of the locals seemed to be predicting.

Yeah. Extremely depressed that , apparently, spending gigantic amounts of a dirty election campaign, while avoiding answering questions about policy, and DESPITE being a racist, Islamophobic, homophobic, misogynistic Sphincter Clown, will still earn you majority support.
