Wow, that's fantastic! I wish I could find it here too, but all the fabric shops in the area are closing down one by one, so it's virtually impossible to find any old fabrics.

I do appreciate your ambition to get everything right though, and I know how frustrating it is when you have almost everything down perfectly but can't find the last thing to make it complete. So yay for you!

I gave up early on when I realised that I could never even get hold of the correct goggles, me not living in the US and everything. And to have everything look just "vaguely right" didn't do it for me. So I definitely get it. :)

I thought the lab coats were originally made for Firefly. Did Firefly reuse them from Aliens?

Yep. They were just taken out storage for Firefly. The only shot I have handy is a tiny one from Alien: Resurrection...

I"m late to the party but just wanted to say Kudos to you! I certainly know the feeling since I"ve been trying to get the PROPER pair of boots to paint for my Pink Pummeler costume for some time now. Someday...
