I've been calling every surplus dealer I could find...that turned up identical goggles in the wrong color (By another manufacturer no less) I bought them, but decided to keep plugging. I made friends with some antiques dealers as well as pickers. (Guys who basically go into barns and garages, make you an offer for a few boxes of stuff you don't need, then sell it off) One of these guys just happened to have THIS set. He normally deals in antique/vintage tools and dolls, and really had no clue what to do with goggles.
I made him an offer and he took it.
I was sent a tracking number today, so hopefully they'll be in soon!
I'm not sure you want to be associated with my level of fanaticism. haha I'm a little extreme.
I've already tracked down and purchased 100 year old buttons that match the screen-used ones exactly, and recently I've been contacting fabric suppliers out of China to see if I can't find the proper Herringbone patterned fabric.
I've found it in a few places, but they require 10,000+ yard minimum orders...basically I've been trying to get them to give me a list of anyone they've sold it to. So far, no dice.
