I Own THE Goggles!!!

This picture should speak for itself. I'm so excited! All the details are right, the body shape, the T-Hinge on top, the two guide hinges on either side, the eye cups, the flip front, etc...

I just need to paint them and swap out the vents and headstrap when they come in and they are IDENTICAL!

Take a look...

painting them is the hardest part imo. I tried the Krylon for plastic paint, along with the clear finishing coat, but it still rubbed off on my face at the end of the day. I think someone suggested sanding it first with fine sandpaper, which I will try if I ever attempt the goggles again.

I''m planning on using a silver vinyl paint and an adhesion promoter (Specifically for vinyl as well) to prime the surface first. The paints are normally used on automotive seat and dash vinyl, so it should (hopefully) be able to take some abuse.

I've tested various techniques on many of the cheaper sets I own, and sanding works well for most, but on some materials it don't do anything but make your surface look like crap...before letting the paint rub off.

I'll report back if I have decent success.

WOW! Feel free to hijack all you want! Your colors on that are PERFECT. Great job! If I hadn't already purchased my painting supplies, I would run out and buy those paints immediately ( ... )
