Mine are due to arrive any day now...if I get the green ones, I too shall be cheesed off (as I accidentally double-bought and got the green ones on eBay first!)
Those look like the ones people were ordering off ebay that came in sets of two.
Don't stone me or anything but it's possible that aside from color, the two goggles are the same so the company, not knowing that you wanted them for costuming purposes, sent you the green ones.
Do they have a section for comments when ordering? Maybe we should state we want silver specifically.
I haven't looked on ebay at all, since people found this website that seemed to be selling the silver ones.
The green don't even look exactly the same otherwise - it's missing the black knobs on the sides, and the welder's glass isn't green. And the flip up piece with the lenses doesn't have ridges.
Plus it's soft plastic - the ones in the picture look like metal.
The googles say "North" on the top.
Anyway - there were no options to pick a color and they really aren't the same goggles. They shouldn't have this picture up if it's not what you're getting..
I'm sure they have no idea that we don't care about welding potential - but if I thought I was getting metal for welding goggles and I got soft plastic, I'd be unhappy too, I think...
You wouldn't be getting metal for the goggle frames regardless since that would be too heavy to be supported by just an elastic strap and it says in the product description: "Frame is rugged but flexible"
And I meant "the same" in a functional sense. But of course, if they were out of stock, they should have contacted you about substitutes first.
Well, this frame is definitely not rugged, though I get the point about metal possibly being expensive or heavy. I think a light aluminum could have been supported by a thick elastic band though.
Those are not even close to the same... and I'm not even talking about color. The dimensions are all off. Lenses are bigger, vents are wrong, lip is different around the edge, no ridges around the lenses. Ugh.

Plus - $16 shipping? The box was super light.

I'd be quite pissed.

I'm not happy, that's for sure!
