This sounds like song lyrics, kind of Dylanesque but with your own hard-biting cynicism. "you bet your last two pennies on" as in your 2 cents, your last 2 thoughts, your last 2 words "you lose" or "yourself later"? or would the last 2 pennies be "and backwards" (in the back wards of the mind), or "crashing down", kind of ironic if what one counted on, the idea that it would come crashing down, came crashing down... or is it that the first 2 pennies, "loose lips" are the same as the last 2, "yourself later"... i've always loose-lippedly complained about gossiping, maybe it will come back to give myself a big loose-lipped embarrassing "raspberry" later.
