Of all the places I may have looked for a positive (or at least neutral) depiction of polyamory in literature, Wicked would not have been on my list.

I couldn't get through Wicked. Something about the writing style was painful for me.

While I had no problem with the writing style, the book itself was painful to me. I don't need gritty realism in my fantasy. Things can be dark, sure, but the general sense of ... helplessness the book instilled was a major downer.

Still, Elphaba's family dynamic makes me glad I read it.

That's his big one, but a lot of his other books have many references to polyamory, open relationships, that sort of thing. I've read a bunch of his stuff and I can't remember a single one that didn't have a very open-minded approach to sex and relationships.
