When Mandy got the owl from Drew she was extremely worried for him. She knew that the two families were meeting and something must have happened. She ran to her mum and showed her the note and explained to her what was going on. She quickly convinced her mum to let her go to Drew's house. Mandy quickly packed a bag and changed into a nice outfit. She went to the Floo, kissed her mom goodbye and said, "Kirke residence." She stepped out of the Floo and looked around the house, "Andrew are you here?"
She nodded, "Well okay then, and I don't know about showing me off. I'm nothing that special." She looked down at him, she really cared about him, she couldn't see her life any different now, and that didn't freak her out. She then jumped up, "Oh I brought your present. Do you want it now?" She was so proud of herself, she thought she found the perfect gift.
Drew perked up instantly. A large, goofy grin grew on his face.
"Presents?" he asked, standing up himself. Drew walked over to his dressed and opened the top drawer. He pulled out a long box wrapped in blue and silver paper.
Mandy giggled and ran back to her bag. She grabbed the two boxes wrapped in gold and red. She looked at the presents wrapping and giggled, "We both went for house colors." She then smiled and handed him the boxes. In one was a new sketchbook, pencils and a book on architecture. In the second was a new scarf and glove set. She hoped he liked them. They weren't anything fancy, but she felt that he would still appreciate it.
"Great minds," he said, handing her box. Inside was a white gold charm bracelet. Drew had made sure to put on a Ravenclaw charm, little butterbeer for their first date, and a heart with both their initials engraved on it.
He had never had a girlfriend before so he really thought about this gift. He wanted something he could keep adding to for her.
"Mandy...this is great!" he said, already flipping through the book. He was in desperate need of new pencils and a fresh pad too.
Mandy smiled and opened her gift and gasped. This was completely gorgeous. She looked at the charms and looked at him, "Andrew, oh my gosh, thank you." She sat down next to him as she put it on. Once she had it clasped she kissed his cheek as he looked at the book. "The lady at the bookstore told me this was the best stuff. I was hoping you didn't have it."
"This is brilliant...all of it," he said, walking over and placing a kiss on her forehead. Even the scarf set was much nicer than the wooly mess his grandmother had given him a few weeks earlier.
"I have one more thing," he said, heading to his desk. Drew grabbed a black framed picture he had sketched himself. It was a cartoon-ish drawing of the two of them blushing over butterbeers. It was mostly pencil with splashes of color - like his red scarf or a few blonde highlights in her hair.
Mandy was confused when he said he had one more thing. She looked at the bracelet, she thought this was plenty. She looked up when Drew came back over and looked at the picture in the frame and felt like she could cry. It was the more adorable thing she had ever seen or been given. She ran her finger around the frame and felt a tear fall down her face. "Andrew, it's amazing. I love it. Thank you so much. You didn't have to do all this for me."
Mandy felt so wanted right then. She could tell that Drew really cared about her and it meant the world to her. She set the picture down and stood up and walked over to him. She wrapped her arms around him and smiled, "You make me very happy Drew. You are amazing." She then leaned in and kissed him.
Mandy couldn't help but giggle a bit against his lips. "You really are my knight in shining armor you know that right? You mean everything to me." She stood on her tiptoes and gave him another quick kiss.
Mandy was enjoying the feeling of Drew kissing her cheek when she heard the door bang open. Mandy jumped and looked at the girl in shock. Of course she had forgotten about his family already. Mandy smiled at the girl, "You must be Andrew's sister, Amanda. I'm Mandy, it's nice to finally meet you. Drew's told me about you."
Amanda put her hands on her hips, looking Mandy up and down. She was not used to her brother actually having mates who weren't total losers. But now he had a girlfriend too?
"Well, I guess he's mentioned you," she told her. "But I guess I just didn't believe him."
Drew sighed and threw a pillow towards his sister. She stuck her tongue out at him and ran out laughing.
Mandy looked at Drew after she left, "She seems sweet. I'm jealousof you for having a sister." She gave him a quick kiss, "Is your mum home too becuase I should probably meet her before we get back to where we were."
