I htink it's easy to be bored after you've watched them for ten minutes and you can go back into the comfort of your own home. We watched ours on the side of the rode and drove home. We did hold hands hwile we listened to the music, though. :)
After this year's experience, I have come to believe that the modern firework experience, with the pyrotechnics lauched to music amidst a sessile, if somewhat beer-swollen, crowd misses half the point. In our neighborhood, a combination of curiously lax police enforcement, and well-funded pyrotechnic neighbors led to quite the display. When your neighbors are running through the streets, openly igniting improvised explosive devices, I think that's closer to the point ... almost, but not quite, Revolution.
