I'll make your legs shake

Wow, Muggle music is the most annoying thing I've ever had the misfortune to hear. But it's damn catchy.

The Spice Girls, they're called. Bloody sugary, they are ( Read more... )

As lovely as your story would be, I'm uninterested at the moment.
Thank you for offering, though.

You're the one who asked in the first place, love.

Quite.
I guess it was a lie.

Seems like it. Does that mean you're generally in the habit of lying?

Spice Girls?
Spice Girls?
Are they...flavored? I dont get it.

I'd ask for the whole story, Morag, dear, but I'm afraid your stories turn out to be more dull than interesting, most of the time anyway.

There isn't much of a story to tell, Tracey dear, that was the basic gist of it.

I am not a storyteller, I do not tell stories. Have you confused me with someone else?

Welcome to the world of Muggle music, darling. Much of it is annoying.

[Private to Morag]

A letter from your mother? Did she have anything interesting to say?

Ah, true, true.

[Private to Lisa]

You're a Half-Blood, which has never occured to me truly before now. Not in a bad way, but it's disturbing that I'm even noticing at all.

No, just the usual prattle.

But then we've got the Weird Sisters here, and I've not yet recovered from listening to them over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, ad nauseum. I still cringe and turn the wireless off if they play them. I know, I'm horrible.

[Private to Morag]

Oh, well, that's interesting, really. I think

Oh, I'm completly on your side. What, do we have no other bands in the wizarding world? It's ridiculous!

[Private to Lisa]

You have no idea.

I hate to disappoint you, but there is nothing of even vague intrigue in anything my mother, or father, or brother, for that matter, has ever had to say.

THAT'S what that is? I thought that Raevynn decided that to be a pop star was her best career choice.... for the second time this year. Sounded like she bewitched those toads to be her backup singers again.

I get mail from Tristram every other bleeding day. Mostly because he's unemployed now and feels that complaining to his little sister is a much more valuable use of his time, rather than... I don't know... finding a job?

Hah, I know how that goes. Cleary's apparantly got himself a job doing Merlin knows what, but his letters were as frequent as Tristam's, it sounds like. Good to hear I'm not the only one with a less-successful-and-handsome-than-Chris-Turpin older brother.

Perhaps your brother could get mine a job, then. Doing Merlin Knows What. I think Tristram would be especially suited for the No One Cares department.

I would love to pester him into doing that, but he refuses to divulge any details. I think it's in Diagon, though. Or he's lowered himself to a Muggle career, seeing as he's a Squib and whatnot. Useless prat, I'm surprised anyone would hire him. Is there another branch of Gringotts he could apply to?

Of course Muggle music is horrid. Do they teach you nothing at home? You may learn nothing at school, but surely in your own home... Well, really.

McDougal, is it? Sugar and spice, and all of that rot.

I'm not taught much at home, no, I find myself learning far more within the walls of Hogwarts.

Yes, it is. Do I know you?

Really? It doesn't sound as if you've learned much. Do you know your reading and writing well?

Lovely! I believe I may have met you at a gathering once.

Better than most, I'm a Ravenclaw, sir.

Could you vague that up for me a little?

How old are you? You are acquainted with one, or both of, my parents perhaps? Do you work at the Ministry?
