From the Docks to the Isle of IKEA, Wednesday Afternoon

Long ago in days of yore, it all began with a god named Thor...okay, on Wednesday afternoon, Anna stood on the dock and waited for the arrival of the others who were going (along with anyone else who wanted to show up; this was hardly a private trip) and a shuttle-longboat from the Isle of Ikea. Um. Yeah, that was ... different.

Stacey was completely in favor of this trip. Let's get some stuff on Anna's side of the room already.

Then there was the big about waiting for a boat to take you to an island of a furniture store. That part was definitely new, but Stacey just told herself to think of it as the ferry.

Anna was really excited! And nervous. What if the boat got here and then she really couldn't go?

Kenzi was grinning at Anna's excitement. "So, first thing you're going to buy?"

"Always good," Kenzi approved. "Get a desk lamp or something too. Easier to play video games by."

What, you thought she'd say study?

"I don't know how to play video games," Anna said. "And I don't have any, anyway. Still, I could read."

Kenzi blinked, trying to process that, and said, "... or, that, yeah. Um. You've never played them? Were your parents Amish?"

"No, but it's like I said," Anna told her. "My mother was very traditional." It seemed like the best possible excuse.

"Okaaay." Well. It wasn't like there were Amish people in Canada. Still. Traditional Finnish? Apparently very boring. "That's on the list for next month."
