The Boy and I are off for a day of looking at polymerized human bodies, acquiring odds and ends for camp (including our traditional contribution to the bunk: Nerf basketball and hoop), watching lots of things blow up on screen while eating fried pickles ( The A Team @ Alamo LakeCreek), and any other exciting ideas we come up with on the fly

OMG it was LOUD! I mean I drove home from LakeCreek and my ears are still kinda ringing values of loud. The Boy v. disappointed that the parachuting tank did not blow up but found the level of explosions/violence otherwise excellent. I was amazed to see an actual plot? Who new? And competent bad guys!

...is not something that you hear very often. But indeed I was! "Stiff" by Mary Roach is one of my favorite "flip through it when you're bored" books.

The Body exhibit was utterly engrossing and deeply weird at the same time. The cross-sectioned body and sagittal cut body were particularly fascinating. Also, forgot that I knew the word 'sagittal" until I saw the body and it popped in my head. Brains are strange.
Every so often the thought that these were actual bodies, muscles, organs... would rise to the top of my consciousness but nothing in the display felt disrespectful.
