While How to entertain your child while lying down had me howling with laughter until I pulled something (and it's even funnier knowing the author and her family) there are some very good ideas here. Thank god I no longer have a toddler, on the other hand "What's on your Butt" sounds like a winner!

When I worked at camp, we used to play a game with the kids called "Sleeping Lions." One of the kids was a zookeeper and the rest were lions at bedtime. The lions lay on the ground and "sleep" and the zookeeper walks among them. If any of the lions move, they're out of the game and have to go sit with the counselors by the "lion cage" (frequently a circle on the ground enclosed by piles of backpacks).

This was pretty much the best game ever. We spent a lot of time patting ourselves on the back for getting them to play it as much as they did.
