The Boy wants to use potted herb seedlings as centerpieces for the Kiddush luncheon following his Bar Mitzvah (yeah, it really was his idea). I love the idea: it ties into his service project with the Sustainable Food Center and folks have something to take away and plant and use and it's nicer than lots of cut flowers or whatever. Absolutely!

But I'd still be doing most of the fretting: will the dogs wrestle under the tables and knock everything over, will the cat decide to sleep on them, will we have a late freeze that kills everything... At this point my peace of mind may very well be worth $250!

If you do decide to buy the seedlings, I'd put the order in now, so that you aren't running around like crazy trying to find enough as you get closer to the event.

Given our crazy weather this year, I'd be a bit worried about the possibility of a wacky freeze (snow on Easter?). Also, I am of the belief that in the days leading up to the big event, y'all will be plenty busy. Better to deal with a task like "pick up seedlings and get them ready" than to deal with "take care of the plants every single day for the next two months."

Keep in mind that I am fundamentally lazy!
