Have you been reading the Herosite reviews? They are must read IMO. I doubt you'll get more detailed reviews than the ones on that site. As greatbriton pointed out, the show got its first 5 out of 5 for this season and I've been saying it's my fave of this season so far. Although they are not quite fond of the HRG/Lauren stuff, still, Yay for me! :P (Of ( Read more... )

OMG, Coleman was so freaking fantastic in those scenes!!!!

The review also mentions a newspaper article in the newspaper Hiro is reading about Brody as well. Really do have to give it to the props department, they went all out for the episode and kept far more continuity then the writer's and editor's seem capable... but alas, that is a different argument.

He was crazy with the tongue in that Claire scene. Wowzers. I definitely think he would have rather taken Claire to that hotel room. eeeep.

I'm loving this episode more and more every minute I spend looking at Heroes stuff.

They obviously worked really hard for this episode. Perhaps that's why I didn't see a huuge retcon in it . :D

Amen. Someone (other than me) finally said it. LOOOOOOOOOL!

The whole scene is superb in the storline of the two characters when you really realize for the first time I think that his affection for Claire is genuine and not just an assignment.

Exactly! Until that scene we were not quite sure what he was up to. The part where he said "She's more human than you can ever be" (lol, something similar to that) made me sure that he really loved her and tried to protect her.

I love how he changes his expression in just a few seconds...I remember having goosebumps. He was just too impressive in that scene.

LOOOL, the jacket move! Whenever I watch that scene , I go, "Guuuuh." Well, I generally go "Guuuuh." for any scene of Jack but I guess this "Guuuuh" is more special than the rest. :P

Btw, yeah, the way Clairebear looks at him...*sigh* This is so RIGHT. XD

Okay, I'm going to take the ~symbolic~ road and say that Noah having the Haitian use his mojo on Brody is the most radical form of rape. Because he takes away all of Brody's memories and consciousness and, basically, sense of self. HRG in essence overpowers Brody and robs him of... just about himself. After all, rape isn't about sex, it's about power and dominance, and more often than not about the aggressor taking out his shortcomings on his victim - in this case, HRG's failure to protect Claire (from the ugly reality of male entitlement and high school rape culture). TBH, this is the most fitting and in-character "rape for a rape" scenario they could have come up with, because I couldn't see Noah debasing himself to take any sexual advantage of Brody, "punishment" or not.

Whoa, this got way too deep, huh. ;P

lol I keep forgetting Elisabeth Rohm has long hair these days; I'm so used to her being Kate in Angel that it surprises me a bit every time I see her now.

Anyway... Woohoo - TONGUEEEEE!

*bows down before the deep analysis and nods like WHOAAAA*

The thing I love about this "Brody getting the haitianing " scene is that HRG is saying he's giving Brody a new life, a chance to be a better person, because he'll start his life from scratch. Don't all rapists act similar? Don't they act like "oh, you're gonna love it, don't resist!" . :D

Unfortunately he used the same haitaining method on Sandra too. He used it so many times and in the end, she got really sick. What does that say about their marriage? DDD

Wow, I forgot that she had short hair in Angel. *goes to find a screencap*

OHYES. And where Noah's behaviour in the scene itself reflects the attitude taken during a rape, Brody himself mirrors the reality of a rapist once again in future episodes: when Claire wins Homecoming, we see Brody hanging out smack in the middle of his old crowd, which could so very easily be taken to mirror the fact that a huge number of rapists become repeat offenders - i.e. fall right back into old patterns of behaviour ( ... )

True, he never tried to "hollow her out". He was only busy with making her forget anything related to his job. Now I think more about it, I think he erased the memory of who he really was. Sandra was married to a stranger.

I refuse to answer that... You will get nothing out of me..

But I would have to agree that I also expect HRG to rape Brody..

The scene with Claire at the hospital was so touching. They seemed so emotionally close to one another. Scenes like this were the ones who made the audience discover the awesomeness of Daddy Bennet, I guess.

I remember my heart pounding like a runaway horse during the Brody scene. I remember thinking "HRG is not bad... he is not bad, or he wouldn´t give that jerk a choice to live a better living". Epic.

The way he straightens his jacket. Epic.

I watched season one of Heroes during the summer of 2007 and then I decided to search for old reviews and comments. I remember having a great time, I loved how people were discussing if HRG had a hidden agenda for his daughter or not. For some of the fans, even this scene wasn't enough to convince them that HRG truly loved his daughter. I remember having mixed feeling too but I KNOW he was honest about loving Clairebear.

Everything was epic in those scenes. Well, Jack was quite epic in this last episode too. ;)
