Man, don’t say this doesn’t take some effort, because I am actively not watching figure skating to get this up on the board. Sorry about the late hour, it’s a long weekend! I’m … being lazy and neurotic - it’s a powerful combination

so I've been waiting all day for this chapter. Proof positive that I have no life on this Valentine's day. I like your Liz, I really do. Thank you for that. I stopped liking Liz post fire. I loved the "lingerie thing" and that they got to have this conversation. They're happy, and working on things and that gives me hope. Despite the possibility for Cassadine obsession. The last few lines just thrilled me to no end. I want a guy to say and feel that about me. I will continue to wait with baited breath for the review, and Lulu's b-day. Isn't that, like, a recipe for a disastrous b-day?
Aw -- Thanks for that. I'm sorry it was so late, I totally took advantage of the long weekend thing. Might happen again next weekend (either early or late) because I have to go out of town on Saturday.
I actually forgot that *Sunday* was Valentines Day several times over. I kept remembering when people would mention it, but then I'd forget again!
Nikolas has foregone many of the hallmarks of courtship, what with his willingness to go straight to married life. I enjoy bringing that up sometimes. And I think Carly loves that bit of weirdness about their relationship.
Yeah, we'll keep an eye on that Cassadine obsessiveness, but that doesn't mean we can't have fun in the meantime.
Very glad you liked the last lines, because I have to admit, they were moved about in the chapter a LOT. That scene had many incarnations, but those lines stayed, so thanks for noticing them.
The Review will get started in the next chapter... I'm giving Lulu's Party it's space. Because yes, probably not a lot of fun.
He also hated thinking about what the whole thing had brought up for him. Mostly, remembering Katherine, their brief and unconsummated affair. Remembering just how much she had played him… He’d promised himself he’d never be someone’s sucker again, that he wouldn’t let anyone make that spectacular a fool out of him.
I'm thinking AJ's little speech didn't help much either.
He sighed, dropped one knee to the deck, and leaned in. “Something’s off. I mean, he’s always a little off, but today, he’s really spectacularly off.”
And the 'Nikolas is strong, Nikolas is smart, Nikolas is a BASKETCASE' line comes to mind.
She asked, from the deck of her sailing yacht
I love Lucky.
But it was hard to watch Lucky performing his role as Perfect Boyfriend to Elizabeth and not be tempted to just throw himself overboard.
And Nikolas.
Seriously, such a warmth of affection for them at these lines.
Great chapter. It was nice to read to about this all of them hanging out on the yacht, even with Nikolas silently imploding all the while.

No, not terribly. But that one's the gift that keeps on giving -- it'll be coming around again ;)

Heh. He IS, though. It might be the one thing my Nik and Show Nik still have in common.

I love Lucky.
Yeah... So do I.
But it was hard to watch Lucky performing his role as Perfect Boyfriend to Elizabeth and not be tempted to just throw himself overboard.
Yoda is still here, he's just not my default at the moment. :)
Yay! Yeah, it's a fine line for me, because I couldn't STAND parts of the 4 Musketeers
I did think Liz was a little . . . cheery, but I still like her. And it is from Carly's POV. Plus she (Liz) has to have a cynical side or she wouldn't make it with Lucky.
Ah, I'm glad that Yoda lives. I love that icon. I know, it's a personal expression and all, but I will be sad when Yoda goes away.
You're right about Liz's upbeat attitude being partly about Carly's POV -- but she was also trying REALLY HARD and probably over did it a tad. She's a little less... overtly enthusiastic in the next chapter.
Olympic break!

Hopefully you got to watch the figure skating. I, on the other hand, had to watch... with huge knots in my stomach, btw. Seriously. When they (as a Canadian you know who "they" is, of course)missed that jump? I actually groaned and swore. My dog got up to see what was wrong with me. But then, I yelped and gasped when the female skier wiped out yesterday on the mogels so... Congratulated her when she got up and finished anyway. Yah. I'm "that" kind of person. Lord help me when the hockey games really get going! (18-0 doesn't count)
I think the Olympics might just kill me this year.
That being said... *squee* More Carly & Nik! Without Carly losing her mind. Nice nod to V-day with the lingerie thing, on purpose or otherwise. And, I know I've said it before, but I'm loving Carly & Lucky. Their relationship is just priceless. Lulu is cute... but the party? Duck and cover people! Its gonna get all-kinds of ugly.
Laughed out loud at the costume/not gonna happen line, btw.
Yeah, that was really too bad.dreamylyfeFebruary 15 2010, 22:03:40 UTC
There were just so many remarkable skaters that night -- I thought they were great... but they weren't *perfect*. THe bar was really high and you could not do *anything*.
It turned out, actually, that I was missing the moguls when I was posting -- I thought it was figure skating -- so I did see most of it in the end.
I totally feel you on the Olympics. This is rough stuff.
That being said... *squee* More Carly & Nik! Without Carly losing her mind.
Slowly -- very slowly -- she's been getting her life together. It's starting to pay off for her.
Nice nod to V-day with the lingerie thing, on purpose or otherwise.
Total coincidence. The previous chapter had a more "Valentines" title, if not content -- but this chapter going up on VD was a total accident.
And, I know I've said it before, but I'm loving Carly & Lucky. Their relationship is just priceless.
Yeeeah, I'm really enjoying their odd little relationship. Which is about to get more odd in the next chapter.

And...the fluffy bunny arrives just in time for Valentine's day!frailingmindaFebruary 15 2010, 05:15:31 UTC
In a "My Funny Valentine" kind of way.
I don't know what scares me more -- the upcoming review or the upcoming birthday party. But I'm really looking forward to both, in a nail-biting possibly cursing your name kind of way. :-)
Wow -- I guess that's true.dreamylyfeFebruary 15 2010, 19:49:58 UTC
And here I thought I was threatening its first re-appearance by cutting something out of the next chapter. (Though I will probably give in and let the Bunny have its way. Life is about to get stressful).
Upcoming Birthday Party -- Yeah, you can totally blame Lucky for this. He stretched out Getting Lucky SO MUCH that both the review and Lulu's birthday had to happen in the same week. (Carly's birthday has to be in there, soon, too, as I've already said she's a Leo -- and it's August now). I won't make you do both in the same chapter, though. I swear.
