[Good day, Johto! The weather is fine, the soul-sucking bugs are gone, and Pascal has a message for oldies and newcomers alike. Nothing too heavy, just a mild joke-like text.]

'Why don't two positives don't make a negative while two negatives make a positive', yes?

It doesn't work that way.

[Time for a little socializing, Light? Between trying to train up a fish out of water, of course.]

Why doesn't it?
[It'll be the most enlightening conversation of your life, Light. Be prepared.]

Simply because two like signs make a positive sign, whereas two unlike signs make a negative sign.

[ready as ever.]

That's a too convenient explanation, don't you think?

What brought this on, Pascal?

The unnoticed tears of the positive integers that long to complete themselves by morphing into a negative.

That isn't how maths work.

But it should be.

[it took her a while to decipher that, so this text comes in about 5 minutes afterwards.]

Pascal-san.. what is that supposed to mean?

That positive times a positive should make a negative. Don't you agree?

I was always taught that a positive times a positive makes a positive. For example,

5 x 2 = 10

Then, a positive times a negative makes a negative,

5 x -2 = -10

That's we're all taught. But don't you think that,

if -723 x -54 = 39042

Then, the opposite should hold true?

... Negatives? Positives?

This isn't a math riddle, is it?

Nope, though it is related to mathematics. You don't get it?

This is more Naoya and Atsuro's thing.
