so I had more heart surgery. the weird thing is by this point I'm getting used to it. it's really weird being used to heart surgery. now this was stent implantation and angioplasty, where they just cut into your leg and put a tube up your vein and use it to put a little metal tube inside your heart's artery to prop it open. this is scary, sure, but ( Read more... )

I'm kinda done with the whole metaphysical search for truth thing, man. I found what I was looking for. case in point, I went back to my old controversial hypnosis teachers and dug up one of the better sources of material. used a technique from that to visualize creating an AI system that created music for me. then I decided to give up on building that and instead move to Los Angeles for a job. the guy I was working for, it turned out, had built something similar a few years before, which inspired me to make it happen, and I did.

visualized finding a way to lose weight, and I lost about 40 pounds in three months. visualized becoming one of these programmer micro-celebrities who goes to every conference, I did it, and I found out it wasn't for me.

basically, what I have works so well that the major question is how much awesome can I handle, and how good can I get at picking things that will be for me so that when I set something like that in motion it turns out to be something that I want to follow through. how and why, I'm done with ( ... )
