Just returned last night from my Pacific Northwest travels.  I have to say that I really love that part of the country a lot. As with several other places I have visited in the past few years I could totally envision myself living there.  It's as amazing as everyone says and even more so.

Great photos! Sounds like a good trip except for the soggy hike. I am such a whiner about such things. :)

Really though, its the only way to do things. There is no disappointment about having to compromise, and you are totally on your own time. Sounds like you structured it pretty good too. I tend to just veg in the hotel the night before and make plans from the travel book, but end up drinking too much and blowing half the following morning. Yeah, the thing I love about it is just the new sort of air, the smell is different, new vegetation, different feel to the season, I might hit Washington this winter for some skiing if I can pull off ditching the FL trip.

Mel and I have thought about visiting up that way, seeing what we could see. Now I'm sure we have to go. I mean great photo's too, very nice. Man you went to some very cool places. I'm starting to get a travel bug going here...
