Made in Photoshop 7.0, is translatable (uses of Color Balance and Color layers)

I found the Snowman pictures at GettyImages

Step 1:
Choose your picture, crop it and sharpen once

Step 2:
Duplicate your base twice, set the first one to Screen 100% and the second one to Soft Light 100%

Step 3:
Add a Hue/Saturation Layer [Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation] and up the saturation to your liking. I upped the saturation to +80

Step 4:
Create a new layer, floodfill it with #FAFA75 and set it to Saturation 50%

Step 5:
Create a new layer, floodfill it with #FFB2EC and set it to Overlay 50%

Step 6:
Create a new layer, floodfill it with #B2FFE1 and set it to Saturation 50%

Step 7:
Create a new layer, floodfill it with #FA9862 and set it to Saturation 100%

Step 8:
Duplicate your base, drag it to the top and set it to Luminosity 30%

Step 9:
Add a Color Balance Layer [Layer > New Adjustment > Color Balance] and use the following settings:
Shadows: +13  -29  -41
Midtones: +58  0  -100
Be sure that Preserve Luminosity is checked.

You can add text/brushes if you like.
If your icon turn out to orange or oversaturated, add a Screen and/or Pin Light Layer
And you are done!
