Challenge 131 - The bitterness of... cross?

Apr 11, 2008 19:59

So there's actually a reason I posted this, and it has to do with my next challenge.

mojonationfandomation, baby, yeah!'>Theme Challenge

This week's theme:
When Fandoms Collide!
Basically, the idea is to create a "crossover" icon by taking an image or quote from another fandom and pair it with an image or quote from The Last Unicorn. Here are a few examples from myself and pegasi1978:

Seinfeld/The Last Unicorn

The Princess Bride/Last Unicorn

Since we've already done a lyrical challenge, this challenge will not include musical fandoms. In fact, I'd like to limit this to challenge to books, movies and television, please. So, without further ado, here are your rules. There are a few extra rules for this challenge, so please read carefully:

  1. You must use an image and/or a quote from the 1982 animated film The Last Unicorn.
  2. You must include an image and/or quote from another fandom.
  3. The second fandom must be either a book, movie, or television show.
  4. When posting your submissions, please include the source of the alternate fandom, and indicate whether it is a book, movie or T.V. series (even if you think it's easily recognizable).
  5. If you're confused by anything, or have any questions, just ask. My contact info can be found in the community's info page.
I hope this isn't too vague, or too limiting. I'm going to try and be flexible on this, so let your imagination run wild, be creative, have fun and submit! If there's a problem, I'll let you know.

Other notes: Brushes, borders, etc. are perfectly fine. Of course, all the usual rules also apply (you can't show your icon to anyone until after the winners have been announced, icons must be up to lj's standards, no animation, etc.).

Mood Theme Challenge
This week's "moods":
amused | dorky
Definitions:
amused (from www.dictionary.com) - adj. (1.) pleasurably entertained, occupied, or diverted. (2.) displaying amusement: an amused expression on her face. (3.) aroused to mirth.

dorky - (from www.dictionary.com) - adj. - Slang. stupid, inept, or unfashionable.

For more information, definitions, synonyms, et cetera check out these Web sites: www.dictionary.com | www.thesaurus.com | www.wordreference.com

There are only five rules for these icons:

  1. All mood theme icons MUST be 90 pixels x 50 pixels in size.
  2. Only one mood per icon.
  3. The icon must somehow convey the mood it is meant to represent.
  4. You must use an image from the 1982 animated film The Last Unicorn. Use of multiple images is acceptable, so long as they're from the 1982 animated film The Last Unicorn.
  5. If you're confused by anything, or have any questions, just ask. My contact info can be found in the community's info page.
Other notes: Any text is acceptable, though quotes from The Last Unicorn, either the movie or the novel, are preferable. Brushes, borders, etc. are perfectly fine. Also, it is perfectly acceptable for the text and/or brushes etc. in the icon convey the theme. Of course, all the usual rules also apply (you can't show your icon to anyone until after the winners have been announced, icons must be up to lj's standards, no animation, et cetera).

[EDIT] I've added another "crossover" icon by pegasi1978, and re-formated the example icons just a tad.[/EDIT]

A maximum of THREE entries for the Theme Challenge and TWO for the each of this week's "moods," please.
