I think the Golden Compass proved to the film studios that the Lord of the Rings and The Lion, The Witch & the Wardrobe were the only fantasy movies that people will see. You know how Hollywood likes to cash in massively on successful genre movies (comic book movies, disaster movies, sci fi in the 80s). I was liking Choke until the last 2-3 minutes of the film and that ending just ... grrrrh. Why? Why? 4. scotch
