I didn't realize the mass quantity of miss information that is floating around the e-net about vegetarian/vegan diets and nutrition. I know I run into people (meat eaters) who like to make snide remarks about my life style choice. For the most part, though, I choose to be around people who are intelligent and mindful enough to respect my choices

I'm sorry you had to deal with that loser at Subway. How rude! What the hell is that guy doing in Portland (i.e. hippie capital of the NW)? :)
I have a friend who's vegan and it amazed me at first when I realized how much she *could* eat. Most of the time we end up ordering the same dish when we go out for lunch. I'm not a huge meat-eater when I go out - I don't like any kind of fat or chewy parts on my meat, so I'd rather just eat the veggie option and not worry about it. :)
I do wonder about those that are on the raw food diet. THAT seems almost impossible...so many things they can't eat! It makes my head spin...

Hope you don't run into many more of the annoying people like the Subway guy...unfortunately I get it a lot too! Especially in the mid-west.
