This is brilliant. Buffy taking for granted that Faith's fate is something she can control, trying to navigate (ouch, sorry for the harbour-inspired metaphor) her way through Faith's well-constructed armour against trusting others... heartbreaking, but very well done.

Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoyed! Buffy's belief that she can fix almost any crisis, while normally true, really crashes and burns when it comes to Faith.. I'm glad I was able to get that across.
