Songs inspired by Middle-earth

​Here's a list of some of my favorite songs about Middle-earth; some of them are from the soundtrack of the films; one is from the LOTR musical; others are settings by various musicians. I always enjoy listening to any of these songs. This list does not have any instrumentals, just songs with lyrics

Thanks for the great links! I still think "The Last Good-bye" is perfection, and can't imagine why it wasn't nominated for a Best Song Oscar.

Me too! I was SO ticked off, because it really deserved to at least be nominated! (Really? "Everything is Awesome"? How was that a better song than "The Last Good-bye"?)

Great list. I love Ramble On by Led Zeppelin.

I almost included "The Battle of Evermore". Led Zeppelin did quite a lot of LotR related songs.

YES! I was about ready to shout "WHERE'S LED ZEPPELIN!?" Specifically, "Ramble On" and "The Battle of Evermore."

Although it's debatable whether "Stairway to Heaven" is LotR-inspired, I always think of Galadriel when I hear it. Here's my favorite cover of the song by Heart (Kennedy Center Honors for Led Zeppelin):

Love "Stairway to Heaven", but I never would have thought of it that way. Now I always will.

There is so much music inspired by Tolkien that came out long before PJ made his movies. There were a number of them I wanted to include, but could not find any clips for.
