I just love the tune Donald Swann came up with for the poem; it seems so wistful.
I had a dreadful time recording it. A couple of times I had to redo it because my voice broke, and then I was nearly through with it when the cuckoo clock went off, and then I accidentally hit end instead of 3. I was glad to finally get it right.
Thank you! The melody is from Donald Swann's composition in The Road Goes Ever On. I love the tunes in that book, most especially for this one and for "In Western Lands".
