That's the one I keep seeing reposted. It also has a link to a machine-translated version of the public post on the Russian beta page. Evidently, the English version on lj_releases is locked, but people have already started leaving comments on the last public post and on the Russian post.
Wow, that would be bad. I use my own layout to view my flist and really don't want a generic one *at all*.
I tried looking for a post at the "LJ releases" page but couldn't find any mention of it. Sounds like it's yet another behind-closed-doors change that will be foisted upon everyone without any chance to comment.
Dreamwidth is looking more and more inviting, especially if/when they finally get scrapbooking/photo storage capabilities. (Maybe they have... it's been a while since I checked.)
Not yet--I keep waiting for that, too. /-: Until then, I'm still hosting my pics on LJ, but uploading them to my DW entries, which I then mirror back onto LJ.
I finally sarted using photobucket, mostly because of those ddos attacks, which made me worry LJ might disappear entirely, but there's still a ton of photos in my LJ scrapbook. I guess I just need to bite the bullet and get them all moved to photobucket.
Edit: I want to revise this--the title of the article is rumor mongering. More accurately, LJ severely downsized the US office, which could be leading to a shut down they are not being forthcoming about, since they are not very forthcoming about info. But it could be that they plan to maintain this skeleton office. It doesn't look good, though.
