Late night rambling and the four things meme...

Jan 18, 2011 22:59

Oookaay! Last night the DH told me that they want to try changing his shift from 11am to 11pm to 12noon to 12midnight. (The lady who came on board with him has quit, and the new person prefers 12 to 12, so they want both of them on the same shift.) That means that instead of having two hours to kill till he gets home, I have three. I have already ( Read more... )

Well...it depends how conscientious you are about seeing things legally.

*cough*

I've actually never tried watching shows on my computer. When I watch, I like to kick back and relax in my recliner, and can't do that very well from the desk. (I don't have a laptop.)

By the way, your DH has a very long shift! I think my dad is gone 12 hours, but he commutes to the city and back, which takes quite a bit of time...

My DH has a 12 hour shift, plus and hour's commute each way. He's gone fourteen hours, plus. (The plus because, being a nurse, he hardly ever gets off on time.)

Ah! I have a friend who's a nurse, and she has the same thing...only she lives a bit closer to home.

...Now I feel obligated to respond! :-O

(But probably not take up the meme myself... I don't think I watch four shows; certainly not at the present time!)

I hope that the extra time doesn't muck up whatever system you have in place too much. I'd probably find it delightful, but that's because I'm young and weird and write best during the wee hours of the morning. Thanks to the letter-writing exercise, I've got a beaut bit of dialogue that's just humming along right now, or it was until a bit of poetry got in the way (I really like it when I'm warned that I'm about to write poetry!). Anyway, I hope you don't/didn't have to stay up too late!

"Conquered" as in you made it go away and wait its turn, or "conquered" in that you finished writing it and can now put it behind you? *grin*

Conquered as in I finished writing it, and am back to the dialogue!!

I say you've managed to keep busy anyway while waiting for your husband. :) I had an evening like that yesterday to and this morning is the same. I'm bored and I can't figure out what to do. I could clean, I could cook some dinners to freese for evening shifts, I could go for a walk but the roads are really icy so it's tempting fate doing so. I'm not in the mood to write, I've done some reading and I don't want to knit. :) Life is full of choices...

*hugs*

Oh, and you're right, I did respond to this.

Oh Barbara, you are such a busy lady! I certainly was not up late enough, lol, you know how *that* goes with me because I have to get up so early. I don't watch many shows anymore, just the news and bits of whatever history or science program my husband has on. I signed up for the BB but now I'm having second thoughts that I might have taken on too much because of my new responsibilities at work which seem to be consuming every minute of my already limited time. *Hugs*

Soon things will calm down and settle in at your new job-- with you in charge, you can MAKE them settle down, LOL!
