I love that he's so in love and also wanting her to have her own work and her own life. :)

Because he loves her, he knows how important being a healer is to her. And he'd never want her to be unhappy by not doing what she loves.

And of course, he's also learned the importance of duty, and understands honor more than many hobbits who never left the Shire.

Compared to Aragorn's and Arwen's courtship, a few years seems minimal, if no less bearable. Poor Pip!

Poor Pip! My Pip, at least, finds himself often reminding himself that "it's not forty years". I guess in that, Aragorn and Arwen set a very good example of fidelity and restraint, LOL!
