Wheee! I love this story. Scoundrel!Frodo and embarrassed!Aragorn make me grin very big. Thank you for continuing this!

And I'm ever so glad the hobbits insist on feeding the guards. :)

(You might want to delete one 'tray' reference from: Pippin stood there grinning, and holding a tray. He was dressed in his hobbit-style clothing, and he held a tray.)

*grin* I'm so glad you liked it! I hoped you would! I'm sure Frodo still had a lot of "scoundrel" in him! LOL!

Don't you know they would? I can't imagine them feeling comfortable eating a big meal while they know someone's standing right outside the door with nothing to eat! LOL!

Everyone clamored to know what happened to the poem, so when shirebound asked to know what happened next, I had the perfect opportunity!

I think being lauded by that sort of bad verse would be embarrassing to anyone--but he's quite willing to put up with it for Frodo's sake!

Oh my gosh, this put such a huge smile on my face... and how sweet it is that Aragorn is willing to suffer some embarrassment just to see Frodo amused.

And feeding the guards----I'd love to see the first time that happened and how startled the guards must have been!

Well, I'm very glad I made you smile.

It was, after all, just a little embarrassment among friends, and I think any of the Fellowship would have put up with any amount of embarrassment if they saw that it would make Frodo smile.

As to feeding the guards--can you imagine the *hobbits'* first reaction, when they realized there were unfed people standing outside their door! They would have been appalled, LOL!

I love that too! We do know from canon Frodo had a mischievous streak and a rather dry sense of humor--it came out several times during the early parts of the story, before Weathertop. And of *course* I love hobbits feeding people too--it must be so startling to those unused to them, their emphasis on food!
