Aww, I loved this. I know that story well, and I can well imagine Spencer reading it to Henry.

Thanks! It was one of my very favorite books when I was little and I was really excited that I could work it into a story like this! I, too, can really picture Diana reading that book to Spencer and him subsequently sharing it with Henry.

I adored this utterly! I'm actually sitting here with tears in my eyes. I'd better go wipe my face before my ride gets here to take me to work. If people see me like this they're going to wonder what made me grin and cry like a sentimental silly. I'll just have to point them to your amazingly sweet story. Thanks for sharing this lovely piece with us!

Oh, thank you very much for the lovely comment! I'm blushing a little bit. :) It's so wonderful to hear that I could actually invoke an emotional reaction from something I wrote. This is my first foray into writing for CM, so I was a little unsure whether the story I could 'see' quite clearly in my mind had translated well into words or that it wasn't too trite or anything. Thanks again for reading!

Just letting you know that this was super cute and I wish there were more CM fics like this on the web. <3

Thanks so much! My friend's first comment after reading this was 'MOAR OF THESE TWO PLZ' so I'm trying to get my wheels turning to do just that! I'm personally crossing my fingers that we get some kind of interaction between Reid and Henry during the season finale--I just love those two! :)

What a coincidence because this is the most recent episode I watched! I was definitely curious about what might happened with the babysitting and wished they'd showed some of that. Thanks for the very cute story to fill in the gaps. I have to admit that I have mixed feelings about "Love You Forever." I find it both kind of disturbing and sentimental to nearly the point of tears. I never know which emotion I'm feeling most strongly, so it's all very uncomfortable for me! That said, you worked it in nicely, and I'm much happier to have Spencer reading it to Henry. With his sincerity, I think he can totally pull it off. Oh! And I love how you worked in some Robin Hood, too. :)

Thanks, Sylvi! I was hoping that you might have gotten far enough along to read this. I was really disappointed that we didn't get to see Reid and Henry together and thus this idea has been stewing in my brain since the episode aired. In all honesty, I know what you mean about LYF. Knowing it as a kid the stranger aspects of the story never occurred to me, and so it will always be a very special book to me. But when I was writing this and had the idea to include it, my brother happened to be in the room and I was curious about whether he remembered it from when he was younger. It turns out he didn't, and while I was reading it to him (and re-reading it for myself for the first time as an adult), my brother interrupts me in the middle with, "What the heck is this? It's so creepy!" For whatever reason, this struck me as hilarious (and just a little bit true), and I read through the rest of the story while busting up laughing practically every other sentence. Thankfully, Reid is only sharing it with Henry, so his own view of the book won ( ... )
