Supernatural Season 5 Finale--Swan Song--Jared

One of the things I forgot to mention in my "thoughts" post last night was Jared as Sam/Lucifer.  His performance took my breath away.  In the moment that his facial expression changed as he gazed at the first hole the Horsemen rings opened up, I could see his Lucifer from episode 5.04 (The End).  Then he turned around and that small dimple

Thank you for writing this. Like you said, people in fandom always seem to focus on Jensen's superb acting skills, and they overlook Jared, or they act like he's horrible. I've never understood that mentality. Playing Sam would be exceedingly difficult, especially for a happy and bubbly guy like Jared. But his mastery of the subtlety of facial expressions and voice inflections is far beyond most actors in the industry. I'm so glad that after this episode, people are finally taking notice of his talent. I was completely blown away. The scene with the mirrors... I don't even have words! He's such a talented actor, and it makes me all sorts of happy that he's getting recognition!

Thanks so much for this. I sometimes feel very alone in seeing Jared's talent. I'm so glad someone else appreciates his performance as well.

Most of the time, his Sam moments are about hiding how he's feeling. As an actor, trying to convey what your character is feeling while trying to convey that the character is trying to hide it at the same time is very difficult. (You get a cookie if you understood that on the first read-through. *grin*)

Jared finally getting some recognition makes me all sorts of happy too.

BTW, you're the first person to comment on a post in my journal since I recently started posting. I wanted to say "thanks" for that. It's especially nice, since it was a comment on a post that is near and dear to my heart.

Wow! This got long. I guess it shows that I feel strongly about it. Also...I love your icon. I think Dean DOES approve. LOL!

I totally understood what you meant by that! Jared is quite a master of subtlety. =]

Trust me, we're not the only ones that appreciate his talent. I've met plenty of us, and there's more coming out of the woodwork after Swan Song. It's about time!
