When I first saw this story on another Live journal, I passed it off for being nothing more than the minor bickering that I see everyday. After looking into it (good old Technorati), I discovered both your blog and how appalling this event actually is.

I really can't believe a company would do something like this. I can understand cost-cutting, every company does it, and yeah it will happen. But to fire people with 20+ years of experience in exchange for some green horn who has no idea what he is doing, for the simple reason "They are getting paid too much truly sounds like corporate greed. The amount Circuit City will save, according to your math equals out to 43.2 Million dollars. Granted, that is a lot of money, but how much business do you think they will lose thanks to the public backlash they are receiving ( ... )

Corporate America is greedy and when you're a publicly traded company even more greedy. People who've worked for the company for 5, 10, even 20 years know the products, grew with the company, and should be appropriately treated. I doubt anyone received a severance package; just a thanks for all your ears, here's the door.
