I'm not there.

I do not have dreadlocks.
BUT!! I have wanted them for years. I just have a hard time growing my hair out... If I got them, I know I could handle them and have the patience to take care of them. I just know it!

My question is, how long should I wait? Should I keep my bangs? And any other general things you lovely people would like to tell me!

My plain ole hair. )

i mean, you could just do it now, but they would be very short. my hair was past my shoulders when i did it, and it shortened up to about chin-length with dreads. that, and when you first get them, they stick out like side-show bob for a while. i wore alot of hats at first trying to get them to lay flat. so here you'd have to imagine like, 4-6" long baby dreads sticking out all over your head. haha.
as far as the bangs thing, that's just up to you. i would say, yeah keep them, i did. but it was a litte weird getting used to. my hair is pretty normal, but i would wash my bangs over the sink every other day just so they look clean.
and just a little advice, if you get the dreads: no wax! and wash once a week! haha. after a while they just get super soft and wonderful.

You may want to wait a couple more months. My hair was down to my middle back and it has shrunken to a little below my shoulder blades. They bangs are nice. I wish I had them. =o(( Remember... NO WAX!
