Sadly, many parents don't know that their kids are bullies. They either don't spend enough time with them, ignore them, or their kids act like little angels in front of them. And if someone says anything, they act like their perfect little child couldn't do that!
This poor little guy! He and his family are in my prayers.
This is what happens when kids are raised in a world where everyone gets a trophy whether they win or lose. Where boys are not allowed to play war and dodge ball is banned from elementary schools. And boys are not taught to defend themselves with their fists when attacked and accosted by bullies or whoever. The ones that do not end up killing themselves get a gun and shoot up the school instead. Growing up never has been easy for some. But prior to the Baby Boom generation there were seldom (never that I can recall) juvenile suicides or mass killings by same. Just saying.
I have to say...I agree with this comment. I wasn't taught to fight, but I never needed to. My little brother was big enough that he could have fought back, but the school systems rules are now "even if you don't throw the first punch, if you hit back you get in trouble too". He got shoved into lockers and other stuff. Mom and Dad took him out of public schools because the administration did NOTHING to stop. Thankfully he is mentally tough, as well, and never considered suicide and is much happier today. But no one thinks it's right to their kids self defense anymore. When I have kids, I'm thinking karate will be something they do. Not just for discipline, but so they can know how to defend themselves when need be. You never know what some bully is going to pick out about you to bash you for. I love the video of the heavy set boy fighting back the scrawny bully who made fun of him one too many times. I hate that the kid got so hurt, and I don't usually condone violence, but what can you do when words don't get the point across?
thank you for posting this, I know what it's like to be bullied since I lived with it for alot of my life. and when high school is over, I realize life is just one big high school, most of the bullying now for me are online, but I've just learned to ignore it, but suicide is def. something I've struggled with for a long time.
